"Nurses entering into the cardiac service line have numerous career options that range from
Telemetry, Intermediate Care, ICU,
Cath lab,
CVRA, and
Cardiac Rehab.
We provide the ECCO-Essentials of Critical Care Orientation course developed by AACN.
We encourage and foster the growth and development of our nurses and offer prep
courses for PCCN and CCRN. Once a member of our service line your options as a
nurse are limitless."

Unit nurses have access to the latest technology. For example, the unit uses a
web-based system to distribute nutrition and healthy living information to
patients. Also, the most advanced cardiac imaging and treatment technology is
used to diagnose patients accurately and deliver the most appropriate treatment options.

The professionalism and culture of excellence of Baton Rouge General's Cardiac
and Critical Care nurses is evident through their commitment to JCAHO
accreditation and pursuit of AACVPR certification.
|
The unit works as a close-knit team where everyone contributes and serves as a
support system for new RNs. And through a mentoring program, new nurses
transition more easily to the floor.
