Our highly skilled team has earned the respect of both their colleagues and physicians. The Heart Cath team is comprised of registered nurses, radiation technologist, and cardiopulmonary therapist. We have four labs between the two campuses, which are part of our Milton J. Womack, Sr. Heart Center. Our staff prides themselves on staying at the forefront of technology. With world of interventional cardiology rapidly changing; the staff is constantly learning the newest techniques and equipment available in the industry. In such a highly technical environment, our staff adds a personalized approach to the care they provide. When possible, they visit each patient prior to their procedure to introduce themselves and answer any question the patient might have. They keep the atmosphere light with humor and music to ease the anxiety of the patients while at the same time reassuring the patient that they are truly in good hands.
The Cath Lab performs diagnostic as well as interventional services for both inpatients and outpatients. Our services are available 24 hours a day - 7 days a week. The Cath Lab has received a five-star rating from HealthGrades for the treatment of Heart Attack.
Procedures performed in the Cath Lab include left and right heart catheterization, IVUS, coronary and vascular interventional procedures such as Stents, PTCA, PTA, Rotoblator, Angiojet, as well as Electrophysiology Studies, Ablations, Pacemaker and ICD insertions.
To optimize care for our patients, we recently installed the McKesson Horizon Cardiology and C-PACS systems, allowing us to provide real-time digital images of the procedures. The images can be accessed by our physicians from any computer. With the final installation of our software, we can provide detailed reports, saving time for our physicians and allowing instant download of crucial patient information into our ACC Cath PCI registry. Through this registry, we are able to evaluate our care-based, patient outcomes and adherence to best practice recommendations.
